“Once in a generation” fiscal crisis combined with ever-increasing accountability measures means that creating and implementing a well thought out strategic plan is more important than ever. School districts must more crisply articulate their overarching mission, specifically identify the actions that will support strategic objectives, and systemically prioritize the activities that will deliver results. Most school districts have at least some version of a strategic plan. But many do not engage the full power of the strategic planning process.
The District Management Council has developed a proven process for defining strategy, specifying actions, and producing results. The process incorporates the experience from working with dozens of school districts, studying best practices of hundreds of district strategic plans while integrating the unique needs of each district.
